Is there any risk invovled with having my newborn sleep with me?

I'm going to be a single mother, so im going to have to do feedings, changing ect. myself. So i thought it would be easier to have her right next to me. Also, i would feel safer hearing her breathe through the night and making sure she's ok. I dont know if this poses a risk to her, i just feel it would be more convenient, and i would feel more comfortable then her sleeping in her crib in the next room. (my room isn't large enough to put the crib in my room, and i feel a binet would be a waste of money since they have a 10lb limit) HELP!!!
