If i get a breach of my conditions, but the police do not arrest me can my probation officer issue a warrent ?

i am a youth and i got a breech of my conditions and the police did not arrest me, now im worried that my probation officer will issue a warrent or summons. the police also told me i was arrestable for a year for this is that true?
